Ghanaian arrested for allegedly engaging primary school girls in sex spree

OF what attraction would primary school pupils be to a married man with two living children out of the three he had? This was the question on the lips of the residents of Bola area at Agala Mokola, Ibadan, when they heard about how a Ghanaian, Alex Kwame, who lives in House 33, had allegedly been having carnal knowledge of three pupils of a primary school at Inalende area of the city.

The pupils – Anne (12), Omolade (13) and Kudirat (13) (all not real names) - were reported to have been defiled by Kwame. Anne’s mother was said to have reported at Iyaganku police station along with the headmistress of the girl’s school that the suspect defiled her daughter and the two others. After his arrest and intial interrogation at Iyaganku police station, it was learnt that the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku for further investigations.
Narrating her experience, Anne said that at about 8a.m. on May 20, on her way to school, she stopped at the shoe repairer’s shop to repair her school sandal. According to her, “when I got there, he asked me to go and buy him cigarette. When I returned with the cigarette, he asked me to bring it to his room. On getting inside, he removed my uniform and pants. I wanted to shout but he covered my mouth with his hand. He put a white handkerchief on the bed, carried me there with his hand still over my mouth and had sex with me.
“When he got up, there was blood stain which he cleaned with the handkerchief. He kept the handkerchief in a polythene bag and warned me not to tell anyone about what transpired between us, threatening to kill me if I did. He gave me N50 and I dressed up and went to school.
“The following day, while coming back from school at about 2p.m., the shoe repairer saw me and invited me to his room again. He had sex with me again and gave me N100. He asked me to bring my friends to his house also. Again, on May 22, he did the same to me and two of my friends Omolade and Kudirat. He gave me N50 also. Unfortunately, our third friend who saw us went to inform the school authority.”
Omolade (13), a primary one pupil who has a Togolese father and a Nigerian mother, also told Crime Reports that on May 22, “Anne asked me to follow her to a shoe repairer’s house. She pulled off her dress and the man had sex with her. He also slept with me and blood started coming out. He promised to help me clean it. He thereafter had sex with Kudirat and gave us N50 each,” Omolade said.
Kudirat also confirmed that the shoe repairer had sex with her, claiming that blood also came out of her private part after the act. It was gathered that the medical examination carried out on the three girls revealed that their hymen were no longer intact.
Kwame, who said he had been living in Nigeria since 1999, and left Lagos for Ibadan six years ago, admitted having sex with Anne only once, not three times as she claimed, but denied doing anything with her two friends. Kwame went further, saying that he was an unwilling partner who was lured, overtime, into sex by Anne.
The shoe repairer said he was in his residence which also serves as his shop at Inalende area when Mary came to repair her shoe few weeks before his arrest. “Two weeks later, she came with the same shoe and said I did not repair it well, asking me to do it again. As I was repairing it, she asked me about her discussion with me that she would want to have sex with me. I told her she was too young but she replied me that she was not too young. She said she wanted to have sex with me because she liked me.
“I took her to my room and had sex with her but I did not ejaculate into her. I ejaculated on the bed. I returned the N50 she paid the first time and the N20 she gave me the second time. I also used to give her money anytime I saw her passing by while hawking cassava peels. A week after, Anne came with two of her friends as she told me she would do but I sent them away, telling them that I was not interested. Anne was not happy with this and as she was leaving, she threatened to expose what we did to people.
“My landlord was there on the day I was sending them away and he was the one who told me that Anne used to come around even when I was not at home, and would sit down, waiting for me. He said he had had to send her away about two times. I was surprised when some men came to mend their shoes but later identified themselves as police officers. That was how I was arrested. I never knew the other girls, it was only Anne I knew and had sex with.”
Crime Reports gathered that the suspect was charged to Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court 3 on Wednesday, June 5, and had been remanded in prison custody. The case has been adjourned till June 27.
