Gaze up at the supermoon this weekend, or live a life of regret

The summer solstice is Friday, but that's not the only exciting sky event happening this weekend. When the sun goes down Sunday, make sure to step outside and look up to see a supermoon. What's that? Since the moon's orbit around Earth is elliptical, it will be at its closest point on Sunday. It will also be lined up with the sun just right to appear as one of the biggest and brightest full moons you've ever seen. Sure, there'll be another supermoon next month, but by then it will be further away. You won't get another chance to see one like this until August of 2014
