3rd Annual 30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 9 ~ Light

This is one of the more artsy days in the challenge, where I ask you to be aware of the single most important factor in good photography - light.

The first lesson I learned as a photographer was to shut off the flash whenever possible and use the natural light around us to capture the purest images. This is especially true when I'm doing photography of people.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures of my babies.
This is fairly direct, filtered light.

I also like to play with light a lot. This one I took to celebrate and congratulate myself on getting out there and running again. It just so happened that the ball of fire made it's way into the shot perfectly.

This one is proof of how great portrait photography can be, unassisted by any flashes or filters, using only natural, bright, indirect light.
