The Best Things I Read This Week

I haven't done one of these posts in a while, and my mind is a bit of a mess this morning...too many things to write about but none of the focus to pick one and run with it.

Frugalista Blog wrote a brave and inspiring piece on depression.  This is something that affects far more people that we ever know, and the more of us that talk about it, the better off we all will be.

Lance, also known as My Blog Can Beat Up Your Blog, wrote this piece for Sprocket Ink on whether the new pope can represent a change in the Catholic Church.  He caught a lot of flack for this one, in my opinion unfairly.

Menopausal Mother wrote about losing her son, in a post that was a long time coming.  Raw, real, painful and beautiful.

Adventures of Ninjamama bared her soul a bit this week, talking about fear and love and trust and vulnerability...and wanting it all back.

You Know It Happens at Your House Too wrote a hilarious post about being captive in your own home because of the weather, and what happens when the light catches that spot you missed shaving a few too many times.

Grass Oil wrote about the epidemic of irresponsible parenting choices, and about how this all might affect our children someday.

Redhot Riding Hood wrote an amazing post about overcoming self-doubt.

I Want a Dumpster Baby reminded us all of how hard it is to lose our fur babies, especially the ones who came to us at a time in life when we needed them the most.

My Children Think I'm Perfect laid out many of the reasons that the conversation about marijuana use, whether medicinal or recreational, needs to be more honest.

Kissing the Frog made us a handy dandy list of all the things toddlers would tell us adults if they could.
