30 Days of Truth, Day 21 ~ Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

Ah, this question. Here it is.

The last time I wrote about this, I was in such a different place, so my answer was totally different.

In fact, I was so naive that I mused a bit why this was even a prompt in the challenge, and wrote that I would be there no matter what without question.

Oh, times, they have a changed...


Day 21 ~ Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

Well, now.

Between the time I wrote about this the first time and now, a lot has happened. One of the things that happened is that I was betrayed in a pretty awful way by someone that I considered one of my best friends in the world.

Being the sucker I am, I even gave her a second chance. I forgave the initial betrayal, let her back in, albeit cautiously, only to be burned again.

Once that door was shut the second time, it was shut forever. I no longer hold anger at her for what happened, I forgave her on my end a while back, but I never ever want anything to do with her again.

It's not that I love her or hate her, I just don't care. I'm that indifferent. Literally. She has no significance in my life at all anymore. 

So, when asked what I would do if my best friend was in a car accident and we had just been in a fight, this time my answer will be different because I need to ask a few questions myself first.

1) Which friend?
2) What were we fighting about?

And yeah, now it totally matters.

My capacity to forget about past hurt is pretty high, especially in times of crisis....but it's not infinite.
