I have this nagging feeling with every letter that I'm leaving someone out, and I'm usually right about that.  We'll see if I can manage to not screw this one up.

Sophie B. Hawkins
She's beautiful, she has a rare level of artistic integrity and she is vocal about her political views, which fall on both sides of the spectrum.  She identifies herself as omnisexual, and though I'm not entirely sure what that means, I'm intrigued.  This is one of my all time favorite songs by any artist.

Hootie & The Blowfish
Oh, Darius. Yes, you're always gonna be Hootie.

I jumped on the Blowfish bandwagon when they hit heavy rotation because they brought something different to the table.  A little country, a little folksy, a little rock and a front man no one expected to see in a band with that style of music.  I loved just about everything they ever recorded.  This isn't their most famous song, but it's my favorite.

Jimi Hendrix
Jimi, Jimi, Jimi.  A member of the infamous 27 Club, he was one of the most gifted guitarists that ever lived.  A tortured soul, music was his outlet, and for that we are grateful.

Heart
One of my first favorite rock bands, they are fronted by the powerful and talented sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. They've been performing and recording since the 60s and are still at it today.  I had several of their albums, but over the years this song of theirs has become my favorite.

Hall & Oates
This vocal duo is hard to categorize, since I'm sure that they'd object to being called adult contemporary from the beginning, but that's where they've always fit in the best.  Whatever you want to call it, they did it well for many years.

Whitney Houston
A superstar with few rivals, she was one of the most celebrated musicians of all time.  She started out young and fresh, then grew into adulthood in the rocky spotlight of fame.  Struggling with cycles of abuse and addiction for many decades, her death the tragic end to her story.  This one, the song that no one will ever do better than she did, even if she borrowed it from Dolly.

Huey Lewis and the News
80's cheese at it's finest, this was rock and roll for the masses, along with the giant Ray-bans.  Their place in history granted forever when their song became associated with Back to the Future, one of the iconic films of the 80's.

Harry Connick, Jr.
Easily one of the most talented musicians of this generation, it seems like he can do it all, even if it seems a little bit like he might have been born several decades too late.  His voice. The out of control hair. The crooked smile. Swoon.

Heavy D
I loved this guy.  I just did. I can't explain it. Great music to dance to, self deprecating sense of humor, all good.

Herbie Hancock
Musical genius.  That is all.
